Canesten 1% cream contains the active ingredient clotrimazole which is an antifungal medicine used to treat infections with fungi and yeasts.
These include infections such as ringworm, athletes feet, fungal nappy rash or thrush affecting the outside of the vagina.
If you unsure whether you (or your baby if treating nappy rash) have a fungal skin infection please seek advice from your pharmacist or doctor.
To prevent relapse, treatment should be continued for at least two weeks after the disappearance of all signs of infection.
Patients should notify their physician if there is no improvement after 4 weeks of treatment.
Please read the patient information leaflet or link below carefully.
