Piriton allergy tablets contain an active ingredient chlorphenamine. Chlorphenamine is a type of sedating antihistamine used for relieving symptoms of allergic conditions such as hayfever, nettle rash, insect bites and itching caused by chickenpox.
Piriton is not recommended for use in children under 6 years.
**Piriton can cause drowsiness**
Children 6 to 12 years;
Give half a piriton tablet every four to six hours. Do not exceed more than 6 doses within 24 hours (3 tablets in total)
Adults and children 12 years and over;
One tablet every four to six hours. Do not exceed more than six tablets within 24 hours.
